What do you do?

I'm a culture curator, creative strategist, and founder of OFF THE CLOCK. I would say my passion in creating unique opportunities for creatives to disrupt industries while focusing on self-care.

What’s on your winter playlist?

I start my day with the Saddie Baddies playlist and a little Amaarae depending on my day and workload. I like to listen to lo-fi while I create, but In the evening the entire Adele and Summer Walker album on repeat.

What inspires you?

To be honest, my current inspiration has been myself. For so long I would live in my own shadows and allow others to be my source of inspiration. That quickly turned into imposter syndrome and I lost track of my own voice. My own story. I've been praying long and hard for a translation that allows me to feel confident in my truth and audacious about my journey- which I have now. I'm honestly grateful and in a really good space.

Favorite project you’ve worked on recently?

My favorite project that I've been working on thus far has to be creating a digital strategy for Harlem To The Homeland. An Ode to black love and the unity of two people becoming one. My role in this project is to be the third eye and capture moments that exude black joy. Working on this project has allowed me to fall in love with love again. To feel optimistic about my own love story.

How do you break out of a creative funk?

One of my favorite things to do is hit rock bottom. That's when the truth comes out and I'm forced to face obstacles and experiences that I had no intentions on dealing with. Breaking out of the funk is always hard but always rewarding when I allow myself to be present in those thoughts and never allow it to swallow me whole. There's so much beauty in being there. And learning from the greats, I use that to my advantage to create more. In that phase, I dance, I cry A LOT, I lean on my peers, and I do a lot of meditation and talking to God.

Favorite form of self care?

My favorite form of self-care currently is saying no to things that no longer serve me, I've learned to let go, which gives space for me to bask in my solitude and live within the means of my own birthright.

What’s some creative advice you live by?

we're only here for a quick moment, live life to your fullest potential, and don't allow anyone or thing to get in the way.

An artist or creative that is really inspiring you right now?

Rihanna always, but currently Tiffany soon to be Mrs. A+. She legit has the same hours in a day as Beyonce and then some.

Latest lesson you've learned?

Never allow someone to project their opinions on your journey as if it was their own.

Tell us about Flew The Coup and how it came to be.

Flew The Coup is a collective of black and brown women who came together to share their untold stories of working in unethical work environments. It started as a groupchat that was formed to be a safe space turned community to amplify women in their own future endeavours.

How can those reading this support you and your visions?

I would love to be supported in raising funding for our amplifier program for Flew The Coup
